Recently, as Chris was enjoying the afternoon with a cool, refreshing pickle, Elena decided she wanted a taste. She opened her mouth and tasted it several times, but I'm not sure how much she liked it. Just look at that sour face. Hopefully, she will love pickles as much as her daddy and they can enjoy them together.

I'm so excited to start our blog for family and friends, I hope this will keep everyone updated on our life with Elena. Elena started clapping this week and will do it, most of the time, when you clap for her. She's also doing something that looks like waving, twisting her wrists with her fingers open. Very exciting! At least we think so. Elena is a very big girl now, weighing in at about 23 pounds and wearing a 12 month size. She's mastered sitting up on her own, hardly ever tipping over, and smiles all the time showing off her 8 little teeth. She's also doing lots of babbling including "ma ma ma" and just some general yelling. I'm having so much fun buying Elena super cute summer outfits and spending time outside enjoying the summer. Such a wonderful baby girl.
